I used this color refresh because I felt my highlights were too bright and wanted them to blend better with my natural golden blonde hair—but the highlighted pieces are totally orange! I’ve been trying to get it out using clarifying shampoo, this is not the “sand” color I expected. Disappointing!

I’m a hair stylist and I just used this on my hair and it’s bright freakin orange. I’m so confused this isn’t the color I’m looking at in the description and my hair is level 9-10 hair. I did everything right and certain parts of my hair are darker and more orange than others. What in the heck is going on and how do I get this out I’m literally gonna cry

Our Colour Refresh Sand has warm pigments in order to receive a warm blonde tone. If you had a lot of warmth in your hair already, it might have triggered those parts in your hair to become even warmer. The colour is very diluted and will wash out witihin 10 washes so no worries. If you would like to dilute warm tones I recommend that you try our Colour Refresh Pearl Silver. I wanted to love this. I was a redhead most of my life, and when it turned white this conditioner was amazing at giving me back a warm color. If you use it for a long period, one of the base colors is blue. My hair is now stained blue. Just be aware.
Customer service was very transparent when I called and let me know that the base colors can leave residual color on your hair. I don’t want blue hair and I can’t use the product again.

It could be due to other hair care products that you use, or even the water in your shower! Feel free to reach out to americas@marianila.com and share images of your hair and we'll speak with our professional team and have them give you the best advice possible. My advice right now is to make sure you keep you hair in a good shape by using a masque often. The more damage/dry you hair is, the more the pigments want to stay in your hair.
